Ready to take the next step in your whitewater kayaking career? Break into the world of intermediate downriver boating with our River Running Package!
What To Expect: Anyone can float downriver, now’s the time to learn how to read the rapids, play the river, choose the best line, and really nail those boofs! We place a strong emphasis on whitewater safety and rescue skills, making you even more self-sufficient and you’ll get practice taking a leadership role among your peers on the river. See below for details and individual course descriptions.
You will have a one year membership to the Intermediate Kayak Club.
Prerequisites: Moving water experience (ferrying, eddying out, peel outs), Reliable roll and T- Rescue experience.
Logistics: All participants require their own transportation and paddling gear appropriate for cold weather paddling. River Running Kayak at minimum, recommend a half slice (Antix, Clutch, RPM, Ripper, or equivalent).

Intermediate Club Event 1 and 2
Little Falls Friday
Come out for 2 Fridays for 3-hour courses to enhance your river running skills by practicing boat control in fast-moving water, focusing on strong strokes, edging, reading, and reacting swiftly. It emphasizes paddling and rolling in moving water for a enjoyable experience.

Intermediate Club Event 3
Muddy Creek
Hows your river reading? Learn how to control your boat running down Muddy Creek in Delta, Pa. See a new River for the first time. Class 2/3 with fun wave trains. Navigate around and through holes. We will be honing our river running skills.

Tohickon Creek
There are so many great class 3 runs in the region but this is a gem. Tohickon creek only has 3 planned releases and is pretty consistent class 3. Hone your reading/ reaction skills as we paddle down the consistent rapids of the Tohickon Creek!

Hows your river reading? Learn how to control your boat running down the Cheat Narrows. See a new River for the first time. Class 2/3 with fun wave trains. Navigate around and through holes. We will be honing our river running skills.

Lower Youghioheny
Step up to the next piece of whitewater. Boss your boat around and tell it where you are going to go while running your first laps on the Lower Youghioheny river!
