The Whitewater Kayaking Lessons Package offers high-quality instruction, a supportive community, and lifetime coaching to master whitewater kayaking at your own pace. It includes free kayak and gear rentals, practice time, and a lifetime of coaching. The methodical progression has evolved from thousands of hours of teaching beginners to appreciate proper technique. Students must be punctual, prepared, and on time for participation.

Our four courses serve as a foundation for future courses, allowing for a two-year practice period at coached practices. Our software allows for online scheduling customization. Our friendly, non-intimidating approach has made us the top whitewater program for beginners in the region. Courses include kayak, paddle, personal floatation device, skirt, and helmet. Students must be punctual and fully prepared for participation.

BEGINNER WHITEWATER PACKAGE
WW 101
Fundamentals and Rolling Skills
Experience a fun-filled four-hour Whitewater Fundamentals lesson with friendly instructors, focusing on equipment fit, boat selection, underwater comfort, and kayak control. Gain confidence and learn faster by participating in a quality orientation and developing flatwater skills.
WW 102
Strokes and Rolling
This intensive four-hour class is also on flat water and teaches you the fundamental strokes that turn and propel the kayak and gives you the tools you need to “bombproof” your roll in preparation for WW 103. (Pick from multiple dates offered for your Lesson)

FREE Whitewater Practices
Whitewater Membership Package offers weekly kayaking practice for skill development and social setting, with beginner and gear-bringing students attending one session per week. WW 102 attendance required prior to participation.

WW 103
Moving Water
This four-hour course teaches kayaking techniques for turning, maneuvering, and harnessing river power. Participants will paddle through current and stay upright, gaining confidence and appreciation for their new skills. Multiple dates available for one lesson.
WW 104
Trip Leading
Experience a four-hour whitewater adventure in Mather Gorge, Potomac, focusing on responsible group management and river communication. Learn to read water and pick good lines with an instructor, available on multiple dates.

Want more instruction and time on the water?
Private lessons are designed to enhance group instruction, not replace it. If your schedule makes it difficult to attend our weekend classes, or if you are having difficulty mastering concepts taught in class, then getting some one-on-one time with an instructor can be immensely beneficial.
2-Hour Private Lesson
Private lessons are ideal for those with schedule constraints or those seeking concentrated instruction. Our experienced instructors analyze technique and help master skills, focusing on fundamentals, advanced strokes, moves, surfing, and more. These lessons are available on weekdays and are designed to enhance group instruction, not replace it. A $50 charge applies if you don’t have your own kayak.
