Our Beginner Flatwater Trip Package is a bundle of five fun trips that have been specifically designed for people with new to paddling and are seeking an experience with calm water, stable kayaks, and friendly instruction. The package spans up to two years* and includes five fun local adventures in the DC area:
Use of top-quality equipment for all trips
(kayak, paddle and PFD)
All trips are run by a professional kayaking instructor. All of your equipment—including kayak, paddle, and personal floatation device (PFD)—is provided for you on-site for each trip.
During each local outing, our guides will provide instruction on proper equipment fit, boat outfitting, safe launching and landing, and basic strokes, so you’ll have chances to see your gains each time we go. We’ll even teach you the best way to paddle (by using your big core muscles instead of just your arms and shoulders). We’ll also point out wildlife and natural features as we go, so you’ll experience the Washington, DC area in a deeper and more satisfying way.
Get an introduction to kayaking and see bald eagles, great blue herons, wild turkeys, owls, deer, turtles, beaver, rays, and more!
