You’ll also learn the fundamentals of kayaking along the way. Both trips feature supportive guides and are safe for beginners.
Beginner-Friendly Group Flatwater Kayak C&O Canal Tour
This group kayak tour for 8-30 individuals offers a serene experience, with professional instructors and guides teaching flatwater kayaking, paddle technique, and exploring the C&O Canal’s flora and fauna. The tour also offers insight into the Canal’s rich history and observing wild inhabitants like herons, kingfishers, white-tailed deer, and painted turtles. The 3-hour beginner flatwater kayak canal tour takes place on the Pennyfield Lock section of the C&O Canal in Potomac, MD, providing a quick start kayak lesson and a leisurely tour of the scenic flat water area.
